Our Restaurant
Beginning with a small shop of just 9 seats in Dotonbori Osaka in 1986, our founder simply wanted to ”make everyone happy” with his soup. From there, we expanded throughout Japan. Now, we have nearly 100 directly-managed stores in Japan. And from here, we are going to bring KAMUKURA RAMEN to Hawaii and the world.
Our trademark dish is “Oishii Ramen”, literally meaning “Delicious Ramen.” We are expanding this unique Ramen brand with a 35-year foundation to reach all shores of the world and deliver happiness to everyone, regardless of generation, gender or class.
Our soup is highly original while also being nostalgic. It is light in colour but rich in flavor and brings a taste that’s both new to you yet familiar. Everyone can finish their bowls to the very last drop!
In Search of Oishi
When our founder was a French chef he started to create something that has never been tasted before. For over 18 months, we dedicated ourselves to perfecting a soup inspired by French Cuisine. The experience not only offers a unique taste, but also stirs up a nostalgic feeling.
The Perfect Bowl
Enjoy the collaboration of French delicacy and Japanese soul-food. Our commitment to “The Perfect Bowl” is achieved with Kamukura soup and noodles from Japan. Taste the true authenticity served by our chefs with over 30 years of experience.
Omotenashi
Kamukura (God’s seat) means “the place where the most important person sits.” We provide the experience where customers can enjoy eating and feel at ease. We thrive to improve our customer service and techniques, while paying close attention to high quality taste.

Hawaii’s Kitchen: Kamukura Ramen
Honolulu (KHON2) – Hawaii customers can dine at Kamukura Ramen, with noodles imported from Japan.
Dotonbori Kamukura opened its first store in Osaka with 9 counter seats and has since expanded to nearly 70 stores throughout Japan. Now, the Kamukura brand has made its way to the Ala Moana Shopping Center, making it the first store in the United States.
“We are excited to bring the brand to Hawaii. We love the Hawaiian community, which made our decision to go to the states easy,” says Nao Wakita, General Manager of Kamukura Ramen.
Hawaii customers can enjoy popular menu items, including a unique menu only offered at the Hawaii location.
Wakita says, “Our cheese tomato ramen is special to our Hawaii menu. This item is served with rice. Customers are encouraged to first eat the ramen noodles and then add the extra cheese and rice into the soup to enjoy risotto.”
